Central Pennsylvania Open Source Conference
The response to the Call for Participation has been great! We’ve received some really interesting proposals covering a wide variety of talks. If you are thinking about submitting a proposal, now is the time. There’s only about a month to go!
CPOSC, the Central PA Open Source Conference, is a one-day, multi-track, low-cost conference about all things open source: software, programming, operating systems, community and more. It will take place on Sunday, Oct 19th at the ITT Tech campus in Harrisburg, PA.
As members of various open source related organizations in the area (including CPLUG & CP.rb) we realized that there is a wealth of talent and knowledge just waiting for a venue in which it can be shared. So the idea of CPOSC was born. A time and place where people with a desire to gain knowledge and people with a desire to share knowledge can meet.
ITT was gracious enough to provide us with a location, now it’s time to bring on the content. Today we’re opening a Call for Participation process by which anyone with an inclination to present on an interesting open source-related can submit their idea. This process will run until July 11th, at which time we will decide on the best topic idea and announce the program content and begin the registration process. Please check out the CFP for more details.
There will be more announcements in the coming weeks and months as the conference details continue to solidify. We welcome questions and discussion! The best ways are via email (cpconguys at gmail dot com) or IRC ( #cposc channel on irc.cplug.net ).
Thanks!
