Organizing the Central PA Open Source Conference each year is no small feat, and we would not be able to do it without the support of dedicated members of the open source community. Our team of volunteer coordinators works year-round to ensure the conference is successful, educational, well-organized, and fun.
The CPOSC team is always accepting extra help – from the early planning stages all the way through the day-of conference duties. No special expertise is required to be a volunteer, but if you happen to have a very particular set of skills and want to put them to use to make CPOSC 2018 better than ever, please let us know in the form below.
Q: What sort of things could a volunteer be asked to help with?
A: We’ve got tasks for all manner of skill sets and interests. We’ll ask you to choose your favorites from any/all of the following:
Q: How much time do I need to give?
A: It varies and is up to you – as much as you’re willing to spend! Early process volunteers [April to October] we would be looking for a minimum participation at least once a month, for 1+ hours. Week-of [late November] and day-of [December 1st 2018] volunteers would likely be asked for additional time as we finish up preparations and assemble the teams to ensure the conference runs smoothly.
Q: Do I need to live in Lancaster to volunteer?
A: Any volunteer/planning meetings can be conducted by video or audio chat, so volunteers outside the Lancaster area are welcome.
